Kaiko Extends Its Series B to $110 Million, With Canton Among Strategic Investors
S&P Global leads the strategic round for the crypto market data provider. Canton is one of eleven other strategic investors; the size of its stake was not disclosed.
Kaiko, the crypto market data provider, announced on 14 September 2026 that S&P Global has led a strategic investment that extends its Series B round to $110 million. Canton is named among the new strategic investors.
Who invested
According to Kaiko's announcement:
- Lead: S&P Global.
- Other strategic investors: Alura Capital, BNP Paribas, Bpifrance, Broadridge, Canton, Coinbase Ventures, DRW Venture Capital, Nasdaq Ventures, Royal Bank of Canada, Stellar and Susquehanna Private Equity Investments.
- Existing shareholders taking part: Anthemis, Point Nine and Revaia.
The release lists the investor simply as "Canton". It does not say which Canton entity took part or how much it put in. Kaiko also posted the news on the Canton forum, saying the round had been joined by Canton among other strategic investors.
Kaiko says the funding will strengthen its core data business and its data infrastructure offering, and that the investors have joined a Strategic Industry Working Group chaired by Kaiko. Chief executive Ambre Soubiran said: "These are partners, not just shareholders."
What Kaiko does
Kaiko sells market data, analytics and indices to banks, asset managers, exchanges and other financial institutions, and says it covers more than 150 exchanges and protocols. Its product range includes reference data, order book data, a centralized oracle service, and tools it calls Data On-Ramp and Data Off-Ramp.
The company, founded in 2014, says it holds SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type 2 attestations and that its index business is an authorised benchmark administrator under the EU Benchmarks Regulation. It already works with S&P Dow Jones Indices on the S&P Kaiko Digital Asset Indices.
Why it matters
Market data is basic plumbing for any network that wants institutional trading. Valuations, collateral haircuts and benchmarks all start from a price every counterparty accepts. An investment from Canton ties a large data vendor more closely to the network, alongside banks and market infrastructure firms such as BNP Paribas, Broadridge and Nasdaq Ventures that joined the same round.
The terms matter too. With no amount disclosed, the stake signals alignment rather than a measurable financial commitment.
