Temple Says It Has Passed $1 Billion in Volume as Canton DEX Trading Tops $1 Billion in 30 Days
DefiLlama counts $1.19 billion of DEX volume on Canton over 30 days, led by Temple and Rocky. Execution costs still vary widely between order books and pools.
Trading on Canton's decentralised venues has passed $1 billion a month. DefiLlama's data for the Canton chain, read on 10 October 2026, shows about $1.19 billion of DEX volume over the previous 30 days and $31.8 million over 24 hours. On 30 September, Temple said its trading engine had processed more than 1 billion in volume for the Canton Network.
Who carries the volume
DefiLlama tracks four Canton venues:
| Venue | 30-day volume | All-time volume |
|---|
| Temple | $579.5M | $1.31B |
| Rocky Exchange (spot) | $514.6M | $2.05B |
| Cantex | $97.9M | $366.4M |
| Pool Party | $0.13M | $4.8M |
Temple's claim was shared from its post on X to the Canton forum and does not state a currency. DefiLlama's all-time figure for Temple, at $1.31 billion, is consistent with it but is measured independently. Earlier in September, Temple also said it had crossed 1 billion CC burned for the network, again in a post relayed to the forum.
A wider view: seven venues with public data
DefiLlama does not cover every venue. On 4 October, the builder of Canton Venues, a free dashboard of Canton trading venues, said it reads 7 of the 11 venues he knows of: Temple, Cantex, Tradecraft, Rocky (spot and perpetuals), OneSwap, Pool Party and Ekiden. The other four, he wrote, are testnet-only or publish no market data. A trading toolkit released the same day says Ekiden has been on mainnet since 8 September.
His readings that day, by the dashboard's own count:
- Temple settled $32.2 million over 24 hours across 4.34 million trades, an average of about $7.42 per trade.
- Cantex handled $1.97 million over 135,000 swaps.
Execution costs differ sharply
The same post compared the cost of buying $10,000 of CBTC at 11:13 UTC on 4 October. It came to about 0.03% on Temple or Rocky, against 7.8% on Cantex and 13.5% on Tradecraft, where pool routes go through CC. The comparison is a single snapshot, but it shows how much depth varies between order books and automated pools for the same asset.
Why it matters
Canton's trading layer now has several venues with public data and more than $1 billion a month of DEX volume by DefiLlama's count, most of it on Temple and Rocky. For traders, the spread between venues is the practical point: on thin pairs such as CBTC, where an order is filled can matter as much as the price. Volume figures from venues and dashboards are self-reported or measured differently, so they are best read side by side.
