CC Slides to About Nine Cents in August, Then Rebounds Into Month End
CoinGecko data shows Canton Coin falling from about $0.133 on 10 July to about $0.091 on 8 August, before recovering to about $0.116 by 31 August.
Canton Coin (CC) spent most of the summer of 2026 losing ground, then won back part of it in the last ten days of August. All figures below come from CoinGecko's daily data and are rounded.
A slow July, a sharp early August
- 10 July: CC closed around $0.133, with a market cap of about $5.18 billion.
- 31 July: after drifting lower through the month, CC stood at about $0.121.
- 4 to 8 August: the slide steepened, from about $0.115 on 4 August to about $0.092 on 7 August and about $0.091 on 8 August. The market cap fell to about $3.57 billion.
- Volume: daily trading volume rose to about $17 million to $20 million during the drop.
- 18 August: CC printed a second low, at about $0.0905.
The rebound
From about $0.099 on 21 August, CC climbed to about $0.124 on 25 August. That day CoinGecko showed a market cap of about $4.89 billion and about $25.6 million in volume. CC ended August at about $0.116.
That close is roughly 37% above the 8 August low, but still roughly 13% below where CC stood on 10 July. CoinGecko lists CC's all-time high at about $0.194, well above where the token finished the month.
What was happening on the network
The price did not track the news flow in any obvious way. On 15 July, DTCC said firms had processed live trades with tokenized DTC securities, some of them on Canton, yet CC drifted lower through the rest of July.
The late-August recovery overlapped with World Liberty Financial's launch of its USD1 stablecoin natively on Canton on 25 August, the day CC reached its high for the rebound. The data shows the timing, not a cause.
Why it matters
The period shows how volatile CC can be. In under a month from 10 July it fell to its lowest level of the period, then recovered part of the move in the last ten days of August.
Daily trading volume in the tens of millions of dollars is small next to a market cap in the billions, which helps explain why moderate flows can move the price quickly. Single-day moves, up or down, are worth reading with that in mind.
