CC Ends a Volatile September Slightly Higher After a Late-Month Rally
Canton Coin lost about a quarter of its value by mid-month, then rebounded about 62% from the low in under two weeks, closing September up roughly 4.7% on CoinGecko data.
Canton Coin (CC) finished September 2026 slightly higher after a month of wide swings. CoinGecko's hourly data shows CC at about $0.1207 at 00:00 UTC on 1 September and about $0.1264 at 23:00 UTC on 30 September, a gain of roughly 4.7% for the month.
The shape of the month
- First half: a steady slide. CC fell to a low of about $0.0890 at 15:00 UTC on 16 September, roughly 26% below where it started the month.
- Second half: a sharp rebound. It then climbed to a high of about $0.1446 at 03:00 UTC on 28 September, about 62% above the low.
- The close. By the end of the month CC had given back part of that rise, closing above its opening level.
CoinGecko's market capitalisation figure followed the same path: about $4.76 billion at the start of the month, a low of about $3.52 billion on 16 September, and about $5.02 billion at the end.
Volume picked up with the rally
CoinGecko's 24-hour volume figure sat between about $4.5 million and $25 million for most of the month before 24 September. It rose above $40 million late on 25 September, peaked near $57 million on 26 September, and was back near $49 million at the end of 28 September.
On 26 September, an AI-written CoinMarketCap analysis reported that CC had risen about 13.6% in 24 hours to about $0.131, on about $60.6 million of 24-hour volume by CoinMarketCap's own data. It found no new official Canton press release in the previous 24 hours, and linked the move mainly to coverage of HIFI's Series A funding that described Canton as infrastructure for DTCC's tokenization work. CoinMarketCap labelled those causes as inferences.
Later on 28 September, after CoinGecko's high reading, LSEG announced its appointment as a Super Validator on the Canton Network.
Reading the figures
The prices above are CoinGecko's hourly readings and can differ from other aggregators and from prices on Canton's own venues. Market capitalisation figures for CC depend on how each data provider counts circulating supply; CantonCap shows fully diluted value instead until a reviewed method exists.
Why it matters
September was a round trip for CC: a drop of about a quarter into mid-month, then a recovery to the month's opening level by 25 September, on much heavier volume. The rebound came in a period of institutional news rather than after any change to the protocol or to CC's tokenomics. Past moves say nothing about future prices.
