Canton Foundation Holds Canton Forum Singapore During TOKEN2049 Week
Digital Asset's Yuval Rooz opens and Foundation head Viv Diwakar closes an afternoon on institutional tokenization in Asia, a week after Canton's first forum in Seoul.
The Canton Foundation is holding Canton Forum Singapore on 8 October 2026 at the ArtScience Museum in Singapore, during TOKEN2049 week. The Foundation announced the event on 7 October in a press release distributed by Chainwire.
The programme
According to the release, the forum runs from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, followed by networking until 9:00 pm.
- Opening remarks: Yuval Rooz, co-founder and chief executive of Digital Asset, the company that created Canton.
- Closing remarks: Viv Diwakar, Head of the Canton Foundation.
The Foundation listed five themes for the afternoon:
- the move from tokenization experiments to institutional adoption, especially in Asia;
- the convergence of traditional finance, DeFi and digital assets;
- Singapore as a regional hub for tokenized capital markets;
- how assets interoperate, find liquidity, settle and move across applications and markets;
- privacy, control and governance for institutional finance.
Diwakar described Asia in the release as "one of the most important regions shaping the future of global financial markets". No sponsors or partner institutions were named.
A separate post on the Canton forum also invited Canton participants to Capital Café, a private breakfast overlooking Marina Bay on the morning of 8 October, with a section reserved for senior executives.
A second Asian forum in two weeks
The Singapore event follows The Capital Forum in Seoul on 30 September, which the Canton Foundation hosted with Noves, Tiger Research and IBM during Korea Blockchain Week. A post after that event listed attendees including Shinhan Asset Management, Mirae Asset Securities, KB Securities, Franklin Templeton and Fidelity, among others.
Canton already has institutional ties in Singapore. In August, 1exchange, a Singapore exchange for tokenized real-world assets that is licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore as a Recognized Market Operator, was approved as a Canton validator.
Why it matters
The Foundation has now hosted two forums for Asian institutions in little more than a week, first in Seoul and then in Singapore. Its chosen themes, interoperability, settlement and privacy for regulated firms, focus on what institutions need to move from pilots to production. The release did not announce any partnership or governance news. CantonCap will report any announcements made at the forum once they are published.
