Five North Spins Its Canton Products Off as Loop, Renaming Cantonloop and Lighthouse
The wallet becomes Loop Wallet and the Lighthouse explorer becomes Loop Data, while Five North keeps its fund and Super Validator operations. The company says balances are untouched.
Five North, one of the early builders of consumer tools for the Canton Network, said on 29 September 2026 that it is splitting into two brands. Five North keeps the fund and network operations, while its products move to a new brand, Loop.
Two brands, two jobs
According to the company's post on the Canton forum:
- Five North (fivenorth.io) runs Canton Super Validator infrastructure, builds the tooling that operates it and invests in teams building on Canton.
- Loop (looptech.io) holds the products, now grouped as Loop Suite.
What gets renamed
- Cantonloop becomes Loop Wallet, at wallet.looptech.io.
- Lighthouse becomes Loop Data, at data.looptech.io. Lighthouse is a block explorer for Canton.
- Loop SDK is offered to teams integrating Canton into their own applications.
The company says nothing changes for users: wallets and balances are untouched, and moving to the new domain is optional. It says both sites were rebuilt from the ground up and that the SDK release needed for the transition reached partners before the launch.
The company's account of its history
Five North says Loop Wallet and Loop Data were always built on the same engineering base, and that it launched the first wallet and explorer built for Canton in August 2025. It also says it brought the first 100,000 external parties onto the network and indexed one and a half years of transaction history. These are the company's own figures, and CantonCap has not checked them independently.
The post says the change reflects the network moving out of its bootstrap phase.
What users should note
Existing Cantonloop users do not need to act, according to the company. Anyone who bookmarks or shares the explorer or wallet should expect the new looptech.io addresses to appear. As with any rebrand, users should check that they are on the official domains named in the announcement before connecting a wallet.
Why it matters
The Cantonloop wallet and the Lighthouse explorer have been among the main retail entry points to Canton. Separating the product business from the Super Validator and fund side gives each a clearer role, and users of both tools will now see new names and addresses.
